Sample the soft corn kernels of a belly-warming esquite, tug at the tail of a biting shrimp aguachile, and devour a grasshopper-filled guacamole. Journey north to Hidalgo and relish a slow-cooked mutton Barbacoa, or stop off at the capital for tangy tacos al pastor. Savory whims tended to, dip a crunchy churro in warm Oaxaca-chocolate sauce and sip cinnamon-infused crock-pot coffee.

CHEF ÁLVARO CEPEDA

His taste for good food started as a child, with the delights created in his grandmother’s kitchen. At 17, he began working in the kitchen of a restaurant and a couple of year’s later his formal education in the Culinary Arts began at UVM-Glion. His experience has helped him develop a modern and progressive cuisine, using organic, local and fresh ingredients. His career has evolved at a variety of prestigious restaurants of haute cuisine throughout the country. He concocts familiar aromas and flavors from all over Mexico and brings them lovingly to us in La Cantina at The Grand at Moon Palace.

Amazing Experience

Amazing

Had a lovely time at the Moon palace the Grand, lovely hotel and staff are so helpful and friendly. Will be booking again for next year, food was lovely and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Lots of pools to entertain everyone.
